Brief Analysis of the Results of the 2018 Provincial Regional Head Elections (PILKADA)

On Wednesday, June 27, 2018, 152 million voters across 17 provinces, 115 regencies, and 39 cities exercised their right to vote. Although some regions in Papua have postponed the election, there has been no news coverage that could cause significant security disruptions. The election results have not yet been fully counted by the Regional Election Commissions (KPUD) in all regions. Several survey institutions and political consultants have released their quick count results. Although quick counts are considered a control measure in the ongoing vote counting process by the KPUD, most of the winning candidate pairs have already declared victory.
