This Framework for Strengthening Political Parties in Indonesia holds significant value for the deepening of democracy by focusing on one of its key institutional elements: political parties. The book aims to provide direction and guidance for political parties in Indonesia, both established and newly formed, in carrying out their functions in a professional manner.
At the very least, the book highlights four important aspects of party institutionalization: strengthening party platforms, recruitment, cadre development, and organizational cohesiveness. Through this framework, political parties are expected to develop organizational structures with democratic mechanisms, cultivate qualified and capable cadres who are prepared to serve as elected representatives or public officials, and formulate policies that serve the interests of the broader public.
Therefore, the institutionalization of political parties is an essential prerequisite for promoting a stronger and more effective democracy in Indonesia.
